Dolores “Dee” DeSanti

Dolores “Dee” DeSanti, age 74, formerly of 2420 Plum Street, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at the Sarah Reed Retirement Center following an extended illness.

She was born August 24, 1932 in Erie a daughter of the late Joseph and Thomasina Pasquale DeSanti. Dee, as her friends and family called her, graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1951 and started working for Erie Resistor shortly after. In the first year she became Union Steward for IUE613 and continued to serve the union in one form or another until she retired.

Over the years Dolores has always been a very active, civic minded citizen. In her spare time she would volunteer for the Sisters of St. Joseph, St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and the annual Flu and Pneumonia Vaccination campaign. When asked why she did so much, Dee would say, “I didn’t do that much. I only did what was needed and many others helped too.”

Being the 8th of 9 children, Dolores is remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, and her sister Eleanor, and all the people she served during her 40 year career.

She is survived by one sister, Eleanor Juliano and her husband, Joseph, of Erie and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis and Henry DeSanti, and two sisters, Mary Malitzia and JoAnn Hickey.
