Albert Sementilli
Albert Sementilli, 82, of Erie, died Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Saint Mary's at Asbury Ridge after an extended illness.
A lifelong resident of Erie he was born June 8, 1927, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Comi Sementilli. He served in the United States Navy in Guam during World War II. He worked for the City of Erie, retiring in 1984. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Vincent and Dominic Sementilli and one sister, Gilda Menditto.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Angeline "Angie" Tartaglione Sementilli; one daughter, Carol A. Brinchi and husband Edward of Erie; one son, Daniel J. Sementilli and wife Wendy Kenny Sementilli of McKean; one sister-in-law, Filomena Madden and three grandchildren, Gabrielle Grack, Briana Sementilli and Daniel Sementilli. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a service there on Saturday at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, 816 West 26th Street, at 9:30 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Patty McGuiness of Great Lakes Hospice and Saint Mary's at Asbury Ridge for their kindness and caring.
