Alberta N. Orlando

Alberta N. Orlando, of Erie, died Monday, June 2, 2008 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born in Erie, the daughter of the late Frank and Virginia Chetoni Lucarotti. She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Orlando, who established the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc. in 1949, and a brother, Albert Lucarotti.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael J. Orlando and his wife, Kathy, of McKean, PA, and James J. Orlando and his wife, Kathy, of Erie; and one daughter, Judith A. Lynch and her husband John "Jay", of Erie. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, John Orlando and his wife, Michele, Robert Orlando and his wife, Debbie, Christopher Orlando, and his wife, Leigh, Dr. Ryan Lynch and his wife, Becky, Erica Hinkler and her husband, Denny, Blake Lynch, Jamie Orlando and his wife, Nicole, Kara Steiner and her husband, David, and Chad Orlando; twelve great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jacob Orlando, Kailey and Michael Orlando, Zachary Orlando, Maura and Brendan Lynch, Kelly Hinkler, Isabella and Samantha Orlando, and Mason and Braden Steiner; and many nieces and nephews and a special niece, Deanna Lichtinger and her husband, Vincent of Waterford, PA.

Family and friends will be received at St. Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Great Lakes Home Healthcare, 1700 Peach Street, Erie, PA, 16501 and to VNA Hospice of Erie County, 1305 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16501.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the doctors and nursing staff at St. Vincent Health Center, Great Lakes Home Healthcare Services, and VNA Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to our mother during her illness and to her "Angel" Kirsten that helped us through this difficult time.
