Alfonso N. Ferrante

Alfonso Nicholas Ferrante, age 90, joined his beloved wife Kay Ferrante in eternal life on November 8, 2021. He was born in Erie on April 8,1931, a son of the late Domenico and Assunta Iaboni Ferrante.

Alfonso proudly served in the military as a United States Marine during the Korean War. After the war Alfonso took up welding and was a machinist at Copes - Vulcan until his retirement. A hard worker throughout his life, he often worked two jobs, and after a full day in the shop, he was a self-employed cement contractor who worked tirelessly to provide for his family. Al enjoyed sports especially football and baseball, his favorite football team was the Miami Dolphins. He also loved fishing, playing cards, bowling and going to the casino when he found some time to relax. Alfonso especially loved Italian meals and sharing them with family and friends. All will dearly miss Alphonso's special smile, hardy laugh, and his funny one-liners as well as his singing as he played his Frank Sinatra and Perry Como CD's and entertained us with his beautiful voice.

In addition to his wife and parents, Alfonso was proceeded in death by his sisters, Angelina Felice, Philomena Stitt, Yolanda Coletta, Mary Iaboni; and his brother Armand Ferrante.

Alfonso is survived by his two daughters, Deborah Chizewick (Steve) and Connie Ferrante; two sons, Ritchie Ferrante (Theresa) and Dominic Ferrante (Sonia); his twin brother and best friend Gulio Ferrante; his grandchildren, Michael and Andrea Chizewick, Mario, Maria, Christopher, James, Julius, Shawn, Dominque, Nadia, Dominic Jr., and Vincent Ferrante, and Angelina Bellotti. He also leaves behind several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Erie Soldiers and Sailors home for their loving care and support of our wonderful dad, especially Celina, Leslie, Jason, and Angelo!
