Alvera F. Aquillano Berarducci, age 83, of Erie, died Sunday September 27, 2009 at Saint Vincent Health Center after an extended illness.

She was born March 5, 1926 in Ashtabula, Ohio, a daughter of the late Carlo and Caroline Mancerio Aquillano. She lived in Erie most of her life. She had worked at Marx Toys, Villa Maria Convent and at Buffalo Molded Plastics. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Colleen E. DiFilippo; one brother, Samuel Aquillano; four sisters, Clara Smock, Mary Noce, Thelma Trabucco and Frances Alberico and a special nephew, William Aquillano.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, John C. Berarducci of Erie; one daughter, Doreen Torrance and her husband Tom of Waterford, PA; two sons, John C. Berarducci and his wife Carol of Erie and Carmen J. Berarducci and his wife Heidi of Albany, NY and two sisters, Angeline Gualtieri and her husband Michael and Rosie Aquillano both of Erie. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a service there on Wednesday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10 am. A Christian Wake Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 3:30 pm. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
