Amelia D. Sambuchino Presogna

Amelia D. Sambuchino Presogna, age 95, of Erie, died Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Millcreek Community Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born July 13, 1916 in Erie, a daughter of the late Berardino and Carmella DiFilippo Sambuchino. She lived in Erie her entire life. She had worked at Marx Toys for 25 years. Amelia was an accomplished crocheter and raised beautiful flower gardens. She enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donato "Daniel" N. Presogna; five brothers, Felix, Ricky, Nick, Dominic and Oreste Sambuchino and six sisters, Eda Farrell, Joya Santabene, Tilba Montevecchio, Filomena Ziroli, Adeline Dodick and Nella Notorangelo.

She is survived by her daughter, Carmella A. Orlando and husband Nick and one son, Joseph A. Presogna both of Erie. She is also survived six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Wednesday at Noon followed by a Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament RC Church, 1626 West 26th Street, at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
