Anthony Peter Leone

Anthony Peter Leone, 82, of Erie, died Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was born September 10, 1931 in Erie, a son of the late Marco and Concetta Amicucci Leone.

He was known by his buddies as "Uncle T."

Tony served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a wounded Veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. He was a life member of the VFW Post 470. He was also a member of the Nuova Aurora Society, the National Club and the Knights of St. George.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Marco Leone, Jr.; and two sisters, Fiorina Jordano and Josephine Yacobozzi and sister-in-law Laura "Corky" Leone.

He is survived by his lifelong companion Loretta Colonna of Erie; two brothers, Fiore Leone and his wife Diane, and Donato (Dan) Leone and his best friend Gary Calabrese, all of Erie. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be observed. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Monday at St. Paul's RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10:00 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VA Medical Center Hospice Unit, 135 East 38th Street, Erie, PA 16504.
