Anthony "Tony" Bottoni
Anthony "Tony" Bottoni, age 73, of Harding Dr., formerly of Woodrow Ave., died Friday, May 27, 2011 at Millcreek Community Hospital.
He was born June 8, 1937 in Erie, a son of the late Mario and Raffulla D'Agustono Bottoni. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked at Zurn Industries for over 20 years. He coached softball, baseball and Little League for the City of Erie for many years. He also won the city and state championship. He was a former member of the Siebenbuerger Club and enjoyed woodworking.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Mario Bottoni and four sisters, Anna DeDionisio, Mami Tatara, Yolinda Schwin and Perrina Monocello.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathryn Amann Bottoni; three sons, Richard Arthur Bottoni and wife Lesley of Erie, Anthony Thomas "Tom" Bottoni and wife Kathy of Girard and Alan Dale Bottoni and wife Kelly of Erie; one sister, Betty Jean Sparks and husband Chuck of Erie and 10 grandchildren, Jason, John, Kerianne, Zane, Andrea, Brandon, Brittani, Austin, Lauren and Adam Bottoni. He is also survived by one great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. and may attend Funeral Mass at Saint Stephen Church, 1237 West 21st Street, Erie, PA 16502 on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Saint Stephen RC Church.
