Aristea J. "Joni" Vlahos Colonna

Aristea J. "Joni" Vlahos Colonna, age 81, of Erie, died Friday, February 5, 2016 at her residence. She was born October 11, 1934 in Erie, a daughter of the late Thomas M. and Julia Turowski Vlahos.

In addition to her parents she was preceded death by her husband Rudolph P. "Rudy" Colonna; one brother, Michael Vlahos and one sister Lucille Hutzler.

Joni had worked for Bell Telephone and retired from General Electric after 30 years. She was an active member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and was on the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elks Club and Siebenbuerger Club. She was an avid golfer at Downing Golf Course. She was a devoted friend and dedicated social organizer.

She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Walsh (Thomas) and Tina Riddle; one son, Joe Colonna (Patty); and one brother George Vlahos (Columbia), all of Erie. Also surviving are grandchilden, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry Street, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 816 West 26th Street, at 10:00 a.m.
