Bernice M. Pratali Andera

Bernice M. Pratali Andera, age 97, of West 25th Street, died Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Elmwood Avenue Presbyterian Lodge.

She was born April 28, 1912 in Trimount, Michigan, a daughter of the late Narsciso and Jessica Ciccarini Pratali. She lived in Erie most of her life. She owned and operated Andera's Kitchen Restaurant in Salinas, CA and worked as a cook at Academy High School. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, playing cards and was a member of the Tuscany card club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph F. Andera and two sisters, Pia Pratali and Connie Casella.

She is survived by a daughter, Bernice M. Andera of Erie; one son, John C. Andera and his wife, Julia of Laguna Woods, CA and five grandchildren, Michael Andera and wife Susan, Gregory Andera and wife Cindy, Susan Mercier and husband Michael, Stephen Andera and wife Andrea and Jennifer McCorvey and husband Ray. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a Service there on Thursday at 10:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, 816 West 26th Street, at 11 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
