Bertha M. Janik DiNicola

Bertha M. Janik DiNicola, 87, of Erie, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018. She was born March 9, 1931 in Erie, a daughter of the late Andrew Janik and Josephine Lachowski.

Bertha was a member of Saint George Church. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, ceramics, and crossword puzzles. She was a real competitive bocce player.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband Amelio DiNicola; five brothers, Ben, Joe, Ed Walter, and Tony Lachowski; and four sisters, Teresa Donofrio, Sally Kujowski, Josie Suminski, and Anna Gocal.

She is survived by her two sons, Joseph "Joey" DiNicola of Tampa, FL and Steve DiNicola of Erie; two daughters-in-law, Carolyn DiNicola of Tampa, FL and Patricia DiNicola of Erie; three grandchildren, Juliann, Amelia, and Nicholas DiNicola; two sisters-in-law, Laura Lombardozzi and Jean DiNicola both of Erie; and brother-in-law, Ben Lombardozzi of Erie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc, 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Service there on Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
