Betty Schumacher (Fabrizi) Korn
Elizabeth "Betty" A. Schumacher (Fabrizi) Korn, 82, of Erie died Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at LECOM Senior Living Center following an extended illness. She was born April 1, 1933 in Erie, a daughter of the late Theodore and Thora "Babe" Runstedler Schumacher.
She attended St. Benedict Academy and her favorite teacher and mentor was Sister Theaphane. She had worked as a secretary for two former Chiefs of Police. She had lived in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands and Sarasota, Florida with her husband Captain Fredrick Korn and later returned to Erie, to reunite with her family. She enjoyed cross-stitching and cooking.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Frederick "Fritz" Korn.
She is survived by two daughters, Annette Fabrizi Coccarelli (Jimmy) of Erie and Gretchen Jurkovic, Cleveland, OH; three sons Larry D. Fabrizi (Arline), Los Angeles, CA, Robbie Fabrizi (Angie) of Erie and Frederick W. Korn, Jr., Cleveland, OH.
Also surviving are ten grandchildren, Silvana, Claudia (Dana), Catina (Tim), Carly, Lindsay, Kaila, Tommy, Andrew, Zachary, and Giuliana ; eight great-grandchildren, Tavio, Mateo, Brianna, Timmy, Sammy, Anthony, Jayda and Dominic; and one great-great-grandchild, Evie. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1626 West 26th Street, at 10:00 a.m. Burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
