Brian G. Miller

Brian Gerard Miller, 66, of Erie, passed away Thursday October 6, 2016 at UPMC Hamot. He was born January 13, 1950 in Erie, a son of the late Gerard W. Bill Miller and Maryde Brackett Miller.

Brian was a graduate of Saint Andrew Grade School, Cathedral Preparatory School Class of 1967 and he attended Gannon College and Erie Business Center.

He enlisted in the Navy Reserves during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Saigon in 1970-71, serving as a Navy Seabee. After returning to the US he briefly drove a semi for Brace Farms. In 1977, he joined the family business, GJ Miller Auto Supply as an outside sales representative and eventually became a partner.

Brian was a member of the Siebenbuerger Club and a faithful member of Saint Andrew Parish, singing in their choir and serving as a Eucharistic Minister.

He loved Presque Isle, the ocean, and all God's natural wonders. He was an avid amateur photographer, talented in woodworking and all things mechanical, and was very devoted to his family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Veronica Merritt Miller.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Cooney Norcott Miller of Erie; one daughter, Holly LeGrand of Sarasota, FL; two sons, Donald Miller (Amy) of Clearfield, PA and Shawn Miller of Erie; two step-daughters, Catie Norcott of Chicago, IL and Sarah Norcott of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Norman Miller (Sharon) of Sugar Grove, OH and Glenn Miller (Nancy) of Erie; two sisters, Carol Damico (Frank) of Gambrills, MD and Janet Breese of Mount Holly, NC; and five grandchildren, Derek LeGrand, Deanna LeGrand, Allyson Fecek (Anthony), Tyler Miller and Jacob Miller. He is also survived by one great-granddaughter, Avery Munsy and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Andrew Church, 1116 West 7th Street, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Saint Andrew Church, 1116 West 7th St., Erie, PA 16502 or to the Erie City Mission, 1017 French St., Erie, PA 16512.
