Bruce E. Bauer, age 60, of Millcreek, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at Saint Vincent Health Center after a brief illness.

He was born January 22, 1947 in Erie, a son of the late Cyril and Virginia McBride Bauer. He lived in Erie his entire life. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart School, Cathedral Prep School and Gannon University. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War as a Radar Man on the USS Dale. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Notre Dame fan. He was a devoted husband, loving father and beloved “Papa”. He was most proud of raising his family and his seven grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Deborah L. Fronzaglia Bauer of Erie; three daughters, Vikki C. Landahl and her husband Tom, Keri M. Whatmore and her husband Tony and Kelly M. Kennelley and her husband Mark and one son, Steven M. Bauer all of Erie; one sister, Bonnie Fazek and her husband Joe of Barberton, OH. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Camdyn, Maddix and Brenna Landahl, Olivia and Abriella Whatmore and Isabella and Caesar Kennelley all of Erie and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Saturday at 9:30 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament R. C. Church, 1626 West 26^th Street, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House or Cathedral Prep School.
