Calogera "Lena" Caravaglia Mariella

Calogera "Lena" Caravaglia Mariella, age 86, 3617 Pacific Avenue, died Friday, June 6, 2008 at Saint Vincent Health Center. She was born July 21, 1921 in Erie, PA, a daughter of the late Louis and Josephine Milesenna Caravaglia. She was a long time member of Our Lady of Peace Church. She enjoyed bus trips, shopping, baking and being with her family.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis and Angelo Caravaglia, and one sister, Vita Latona. She is survived by her husband, John M. Mariella of Erie; two sons, John A. Mariella of Erie and Louis M. Mariella, Las Vegas, NV; one brother, Frank Caravaglia of Erie; two sisters, Lillian Detzel of Erie, and Sandy Sotey, Phoenix, AZ; three granddaughters, Sarah Mariella-Wurst, McKean, PA, Aimee Mariella of Erie, and Dominyka Mariella, Las Vegas, NV. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, today from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Mass on Monday at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, 2401 West 38th Street, at 1:30 pm. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
