Carl C. Rizzo, 86, died on September 30, 2024. He was born in Erie, PA on March 23, 1938 to Cosimo C. Rizzo and Wilma (DiNiCola) Rizzo. He is survived by his four daughters Annalise Rizzo, April Stock (Drew), Dr. Laura Michelle Rizzo Johnson, and Kathleen Nomoto (Bruce). Further, survived by his five younger brothers, Wendell F. Rizzo, William A. Rizzo (Jeanette), Matthew G. Rizzo, Benjamin S. Rizzo (Mary) and Michael R. Rizzo (Martha) as well as a myriad of nieces and nephews.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife of 30-years Mary (Flynn) Rizzo. Also, two brothers MSgt Louis B. Rizzo, MSgt Richard R. Rizzo and one sister Mary Ann Rizzo Stein. Further his siblings-in-law Pauline Rizzo, Patricia Adams Rizzo, Eileen Sullivan Rizzo and Robert Stein.
He graduated from Cathedral Prep, attended Edinboro University and served in the U.S. Army. Later he worked for Philco as an engineer and returned home to work as a baker and mixer for Firch's Bakery. After that he worked as a baker for Super Duper Grocery Store and retired. After retirement, he served as a crossing guard for 16-years until his health declined.
Carl enjoyed music, singing opera as a tenor, and show tunes that he shared with his family. He also enjoyed playing Bridge, Pinochle, Spades and Hearts. He mostly enjoyed mathematics and engineering.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at Noon.
