Carlo N. Orlando Sr
Carlo N. Orlando, Sr., age 73, died peacefully Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Saint Vincent Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 23, 1948 in Erie, PA, son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Scutella) Orlando.
Carlo worked for the National Forge as a machinist and foreman for many years.
He enjoyed bowling, collecting coins, hunting with family, building and remodeling classic cars, was known as a "mister fix-it" by many, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved having a lot of family over by hosting big Christmas Eve gatherings and loved spending time with his wife Isabel by going to the casino or by going out to eat. He also enjoyed visiting close friends for early morning coffee regularly.
He was preceded in death by two infant babies and one infant grandson.
Carlo is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Isabel "Izzy" J. (Aiello) Orlando; brother, Joseph J. Orlando, Jr. (Patricia) of Erie, PA; brother-in-law, Frank Aiello (Mary) of North Huntington, PA; his daughters, Patricia Orlando Graziano (Michael) of Erie, PA and Kathleen Ann Robson (Scott) of Saskatoon, SK, Canada; son, Carlo N. Orlando, Jr. of Erie, PA; grandchildren, Angela Purchase (fiancé Richard A. DiLoreto, II) of Erie, PA, Sara Purchase of Windsor, CO, and Malia Robson and Ciana Robson of Saskatoon, SK, Canada; and great grandson, Richard A. DiLoreto, III of Erie, PA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Lesa Lewindowski (Eric) of Huntersville, NC, Joseph J. Orlando, III (Emily), Donald Orlando (Laura) of Erie, PA, Ryan Aiello (Lori) of Powell, OH, Rori Mull (Michael) of Redondo Beach, CA, and Katie Aiello McCusker of Irwin, PA. Also surviving are several great nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
Carlo will be dearly missed.
Family and friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and may attend a service there on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family wishes to honor COVID-19 protocol. Masks are required. Memorials may be made to the Benedictine Sisters of Erie, 6101 East Lake Rd., Erie, PA 16511.
