Carmela M. Santacroce DiNino

Carmela M. Santacroce DiNino, 83, of Erie, passed away Friday November 2, 2018 at UPMC Hamot. She was born July 9, 1935 in Pratola Peligna, Italy, the daughter of the late Domenico and America Santarelli Santacroce.

Carmela trained as a seamstress in Italy and has lived in Erie since 1976.

She enjoyed cooking, baking Italian dishes and her vegetable garden. She loved spending time with her family and communicating with her family in Italy.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Vittorio DiNino; one brother Elio Santacroce of Abruzzi, Italy; and one sister Maria Gregori of Umbria, Italy.

She is survived by her daughter, Pina Logue (Joe); one son, John R. "Rino" DiNino both of Erie; two grandchildren, Stephanie Logue and Julia Swanson (Brian); and four sisters-in-law, Silvia Vitale of Erie, Elisa Iacobucci and Lina DiNino both of CT and Anna Di Mattia of Abruzzi, Italy. She is also survived by one great-grandson Quinn Swanson and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 8:00 p.m. Burial will be private in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
