Carmella Bongiorno DiAngi
Carmella Bongiorno DiAngi, age 89, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 after an extended illness.
She was born July 17, 1920 in Villa Priole, Sicily, a daughter of the late Filippo and Maria Santa Bevelacqua. She lived in Erie most of her life.
She graduated from Villa Maria College with a Bachelor's Degree in Language. She had worked as a secretary and treasurer along with her brothers in Bongiorno and DiAngi Custom Home builders and Girard Plastics, Inc. She was dedicated to her church and enjoyed sewing and cooking.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John DiAngi and two brothers, Michael and Charles Bongiorno.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra DiAngi of Seattle, WA; one son, Philip G. DiAngi and wife Rebecca of Girard, PA and two brothers, Angelo and John Bongiorno both of Erie. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Matthew DiAngi, Brian Hashisaki and Emiko Hashisaki and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday evening from 6 to 9 pm and Saturday at Erie First Assembly of God, 8150 Oliver Road, from 9 am until time of Service there at 10 am. Burial will be in Erie Cemetery.
