Carmella L. Caserta DiFilippo

Carmela L. Caserta DiFilippo, 94, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at her residence after an extended illness. She was born July 1, 1922 in Lorain, OH, a daughter of the late Giuseppe "Joseph" and Givanna DiFilippo Caserta.

Carmela was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter and Val Caserta and three sisters, Madeline DiFilippo, Julia Iacobozzi, and Elvira Colella.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Emilio F. DiFilippo; daughter, Darlene Wedge (Ronald) of Bolivar, NY; three granddaughters, Berta Baxter (Todd), Teresa Crumley (Michael), and Mary Ellen Wedge; and four great-grandchildren, Amy, Derek, Abigail, and Caidence. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry Street, on Sunday from 2 to 6 pm and may attend a service there on Monday followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint George Church, 5145 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16509, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Saint George Church.
