Carolyn Mae Shick Kane

Carolyn Mae Shick Kane, age 70, of 1121 West 21st Street, died Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born November 18, 1936 in Du Bois, PA, a daughter of the late Kenneth J. and Ruth Bell Smith Shick. She lived in Erie since 1998. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was dedicated to her husband's ministry. She had worked at the Brookville Bank and Trust, was an active member of the United Methodist Women and a member of the Reynoldsville Eastern Star.

She is survived by he husband of 51 years, Rev. James W. Kane of Erie; one daughter, Nancy Jenkins and her husband Kevin of Titusville, PA; two sons, Steve Kane and his wife Maureen of Elgin, IL and Dan Kane of Erie; one brother, Kenneth Shick and his wife Claire of Austin, TX and Sandra Kiehl and her husband Richard of Pittsburgh, PA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, four nieces and one nephew.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Service on Saturday at Ohl United Methodist Church, 3299 Heathville Ohl Rd., Summerville, PA at 12 p.m. An Eastern Star Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Friday at 7 p.m. by Gridley Chapter #324. Burial will be in Ohl Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Great Lakes Hospice, 1700 Peach St., STE 244, Erie, PA 16501 or to the family.
