Carolyne Malanecki Kane
Carolyne Malanecki Kane, 74, of Erie, died Sunday, October 7, 2007 at Millcreek Community Hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 16, 1933 in Erie, a daughter of the late Wallery and Theresa Szczutkowski Malanecki. She lived in Erie her entire life. She was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School in 1952 and married Robert W. Kane October 27, 1957. She was a member of Saint Paul's Parish and worked at Marx Toys, Erie Resistors and the Green Shingle Truck Stop. In her later years, she enjoyed playing Bingo and going to area casinos. She was also very skilled with a crochet hook and made many creative arts and crafts.
One of her great joys came from watching her son Bobby bowl in many leagues over the last 20-plus years. She was very proud of his success.
She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert who died in 1991 and her first husband, David Gray who died in 1952 and her sisters, Shirley Howard, Jenny Fetty, Dolores Landis, Theresa Davis, Jackie Emerick and Clara Millason.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Cyparski and her husband Dan; her son, Robert W. Kane Jr. and his wife Dorothy; grandchildren, Bryan Seymour and his wife Chris, Mona Byerly and husband Adam and Michael J. Kane; her great-grandchildren, Taylor Seymour, Emily, Hunter and Kenneth Byerly and brothers Edward and William Malanecki.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Andrew RC Church, 1116 West 7th Street, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 3524 West 26th St., Erie, PA16506.
