Catherine A. "Katie" Henle Cray

Catherine A. "Katie" Henle Cray, age 93, of Erie died Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Golden Living Center Western Reserve.

She was born January 3, 1919 in Erie, a daughter of the late Edward and Mary Hornyak Henle. She lived in Erie her entire life. She had worked at Continental Rubber Works and for the Martin Luther King Center from where she retired. She had also worked at the polls for the City of Erie Fourth Ward for many years.

She was a member of Saint Andrew Church. She was past president of Lifts, past secretary and a life member ofCascade Park Ladies Auxiliary and past secretary of the Knights of Saint John Ladies auxiliary. Katie was an avid bowler and enjoyed going out to dinner and anything chocolate.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cray; a son, James E. "Taz" Cray and three sisters, Mary Haslage, Helen Ciesielki and Ann DiLoreto.

She is survived by her nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and may attend a service there on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint RC Andrew Church, 1116 West 7th Street, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Andrew RC Church, 1116 West 7th Street, Erie, PA 16502 or to the charity of one's choice.
