Catherine A. Salvatore Alessi

Catherine A. Salvatore Alessi, age 82, of Erie, died Saturday, March 5, 2011. She was born December 27, 1928 in Erie a daughter of the late Angelo "Nick" and Maria Fiadone Salvatore.

She worked for John Hancock Insurance Life Insurance Company, P&M Auto and for the Erie Catholic Diocese for 12 years, retiring in 2004. She was a member of Saint Paul RC Church and their Rosary Altar Society and Bereavement Committee. She enjoyed crafts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Angelo J. Alessi; one brother, Michael Salvatore and one sister, Florence Viglione.

She is survived by her son, Richard A. Alessi and his wife Carol; one sister, Mae Ferraro, and two grandchildren, Erica Wade of Arizona and Aaron Alessi of State College, PA. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Cameron, Ashley and Kayler Wade and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to a service there on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 9:30 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
