Charleen M. Eicher Chimera

Charleen M. Eicher Chimera, age 80, of Erie, passed away due to complications from a brief illness on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Reston Hospital Center, in Reston, VA. She was born October 12, 1940, in Erie, a daughter of the late Herbert and Marie Patterson Eicher.

Charleen lived in Erie most of her life. She enjoyed being out in the sun, working on puzzles, reading, playing cards, and most of all spending time with friends, family, and especially her grand babies. She spent time in her career working at GE, Mercyhurst Prep, and Electro Science as well as staying home to raise her 3 children. She loved to help and care for people as if they were family, even if they weren't, and was well known as Grama and Aunt Char to more people than can be mentioned. She was well loved and will be truly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Chimera; and her sisters, Evie Millett, Geri Schaeffer, Jeanie Brown, and Rose Knapp.

Charleen is survived by her daughter, Kelly Chimera; sons, Russell Chimera Jr. (Lisa Ruggles) and Christopher Chimera (Betty); her sisters, Corky Eicher, Jackie Jaraczewski, Angie Schultz, and Denise Whiteman. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Anthony, Amanda, Camryn, C.J., Shaw-nea, Arianna, Rosalie, Nicolas, Jasmine, and Alissa; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, Erie, PA 16502, on Monday, September 13, 2021 from 3 p.m. until the time of the service there at 6 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family in the care of the funeral home.
