Charles E. Steele

Charles E. Steele, age 63, of 3469 West 43rd Street,died Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Hamot Medical Center. He was born March 22, 1945 in Meadville, PA, a son of the late Franklin R. and Edna M. Chase Steele. He lived in Erie for the past 26 years.

He served in the United States Navy on the USS Harwood during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed hunting, camping and being surrounded by family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Kathleen E. Hartman Steele of Girard, PA; one daughter, Deanna L. Batcho and her husband Douglas of Buffalo, NY; one son, Iam M. Steele of Erie; one brother, John Steele of Meadville and two sisters, Carol A. Vatter and her husband James of Cochranton, PA and Karen S. Beck of Dayton, OH. He is also survived by four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A private service is being handled by the John R Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street. Memorials may be made the family.
