Clair L. Minnis

Clair L. Minnis, 66, of Erie, died Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Saint Vincent Health Center. He was born August 26, 1949 in Erie, a son of the late Robert C. Minnis, Sr. and Louise T. Szymanowski Minnis.

He worked at Lord Corporation for 15 years.

Clair liked bowling, hunting, fishing, camping, and listening to country music. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 17 years, Estelle P. Maisner Minnis, one brother, John C. Minnis and beloved dog Mindy.

He is survived by three daughters, Sherry Minnis Torrey and fiance Kevin Bush of Warren, PA, Valerie Stephenson of Waterford, and Holly Fowler of Erie; one son, David Maisner (Audrey) of Waterford; five brothers, Robert C. Minnis, Jr. (Jane), David Minnis, Michael C. Minnis, and Terry Foy all of Erie, and Frank Foy (Adelia) of NC; five sisters, Maryann Dunbar (Michael), June Minnis both of Erie, Roberta Gutowski (Stan) of West Springfield, PA, Cathryn Wescott of Pittsburgh and Kitty Stanyard (Tim) of Erie. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews, and 1 great-niece.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 until the time of the Funeral Service there at 8:30 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
