Clara M. Falletta Torney Bernardine

Clara M. Falletta Torney Bernardine, age 90, formerly of East 9th Street, died Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Manchester Presbyterian Lodge. She was born March 21, 1920 in North East, PA, a daughter of the late Russell and Anna Nicastro Falletta.

She lived in Erie most of her life. She had worked at Sammy's Tavern, Lovell Manufacturing, Boston Store, was a governess for Laurie Salomon of Brooklyn, New York; whom she loved dearly and was the owner and operator of Local Dry Cleaners on 18th Street. She enjoyed jazz music and dancing.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent "Jimmy" Torney, one brother, Ralph Falletta and one sister, Pauline Varo.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a Funeral Mass at Saint Mary RC Church, 315 East Ninth St., on Tuesday at 1 pm. Burial will be in Saint Gregory Cemetery, North East PA.
