Concetta Genova Ciminella
Concetta Genova Ciminella, age 92, formerly of 1812 Walnut Street, died Friday, November 14, 2008 at Saint Mary's at Asbury Ridge.
She was born July 4, 1916 in Hillville, PA, a daughter of the late Giovanni and Rosa Cangelosi Genova. Since 1948, she was a member of Saint Paul RC Church in Little Italy, and formerly employed with Marx Toys. She was an enthusiastic traveler and most passionate about spending time at home and away with all of her family. Being an avid gardener and seamstress were among her many talents and gifts. Her dynamic personality, love, passion, and wisdom will be perpetually missed and remembered, until we meet again.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Giovanni Latona, her second husband, Giovanni Ciminella and two brothers, Francesco Genova and Girolamo Genova.
She is survived by two daughters, Santa Latona and her husband Michaelangelo of Chicago, IL and Rosalia Ciminella of Erie; two sons, Larenzo Ciminella and his wife Susan of Orange, CA and Girolamo Ciminella of Brea, CA; two brothers, Raimondo Genova of Bagheria , Italy and Guiseppe Genova of Madison, WI and five sisters, Sarafina Aiello of Madison, WI, Anna Genova of Bagheria, Italy, Guiseppina Greco of Lyon, France, Angela Martorana of Madison, WI and Rosalia Ticali of Madison, WI. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a service there on Thursday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10 am. A Christian Wake Service will be held at the funeral home of Wednesday at 3 pm. Burial will be in Erie Cemetery.
