Daniel Becker

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Daniel Carl Becker, age 87. Dan passed away November 4, 2024, at Sarah Reed Senior Living. He was born August 25, 1937, in Erie, the son of the late Edwin J. and Vera (Morrison) Becker.

Dan graduated from Erie Technical School. He then joined the United States Marine Reserves. Later, he joined the United States Air Force, spending part of his service in Germany.

After his service, he received his certificate in Appliance Repair and worked for Fullerton Appliance for a short time before starting his career with Sears and Roebuck & Company. Dan worked for Sears for over 35 years.

He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, stained glass, paint by number, wine making, bonsai trees, playing pool, garage sales and the casino. He also enjoyed listening to Polkas in his kitchen, as loud as they could go. Mostly, he enjoyed talking with people, making friends and having a good time.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sarah (Wade) Becker; and his children, Lori Becker Higby (Alex), Michael J. Becker, Brooke Becker Bollinger (Jared), and Katie Becker (James). He is also survived by his brother Norman Becker; his sister-in-law Belva Wade; granddaughter, Kaleena Higby; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends are invited to attend a celebration of Dan's life at St. Boniface Ushers Club, 8911 Wattsburg Rd, on Saturday November 9, 2024, from 1 to 3 p.m. Military Honors will be presented at 3 p.m. Arrangements were handled by John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, Erie, PA 16502.
