David A. Donikowski

David A. Donikowski, age 69, of Erie, died Monday, May 26, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family after a very courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 9, 1945 in Erie, a son of the late Vincent and Lucy Siciliano Donikowski.

He was a standout baseball player in high school and enjoyed all sports; especially golf. David liked to work outside in his yard and he cherished his Corvettes. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor.

David is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 47 years, Nancy Leone Donikowski of Erie. He is also survived by three daughters, Lynn Basilone of Pittsburgh, Lisa Donikowski (Scott Burbee) and Ange Eberlein (Tom) both of Erie; one son, David Donikowski (Dr. Michele Polon) of Erie and two brothers, Richard Donikowski of Erie and Paul Siciliano of FL. He is further survived by six grandchildren, Bianca, Gianna, and Aria Basilone, Lia Eberlein, Drew and Eva Donikowki, and his best friend, Jim LeCorchick.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Mass on Friday at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, 2401 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16506, at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Peace Church.
