Delores "Dee" Theresa Julio Montefiori
Delores "Dee" Theresa Julio Montefiori, 87, of Erie, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Saint Mary's Home of Erie. She was born February 8, 1930 in Conneaut, OH, a daughter of the late William T. and Ruth Coppola Julio.
Dee moved to Erie when she was 4 years old. She was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School Class of 1948. She worked at GE, the Kahkwa Club and Census Manufacturing.
She was a choir member at Saint Peter's Cathedral, Sacred Heart Church, Blessed Sacrament Church and Saint Paul's Church; where she was also a Eucharistic Minister and Bereavement Planner for funerals.
She entertained the shut-ins with the Troubadours since 1948; she called it a ministry for her. Dee made a Cursillo #108.
Dee was the proud mother of four sons.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Michael V. Julio and her step-grandson, Michael Montefiori.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Nicholas "Nick" P. Montefiori of Erie; four sons, Lawrence "Larry" N. Montefiori (Ilona) of Erie, David C. Montefiori (Nicole) of NC, Mark W. Montefiori (Juanita) of IN and Nicholas "Nick" A. Montefiori (Robyn) of VA; one brother, Bill Julio (Marilyn) of NJ and 7 grandchildren, Cathy, Lindsey, Shannon, Natalie, Alexis, Benjamin, and Emily; one step-granddaughter, Lisa Grizanti; and 3 great-grandchildren. Alex, Jeffrey & Remi She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. to and may attend a service there on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
