Dennis J. Horwath

Dennis J. Horwath, age 67, of Erie, passed away Saturday January 9, 2021. He was born on July 9, 1953 in Erie, a son of the late Alex P. and Helen Pitek Horwath.

Dennis was a lifelong Erie resident. He enjoyed Little League Baseball and Boy Scouts, earning an Eagle Scout badge at the age of 15. Dennis graduated from Tech Memorial High School, Class of 1971, and then began his career in the family business, Horwath Electric Motors, Inc. In 1998, while he was President, the company received the Gannon College Service Business of the Year Award.

In 1986, Dennis and his wife Elena Marasco renovated the old Weis Library. Along with their children DJ and Jessica, their home became a special place for memories with family and friends. We vision Dennis reunited with our beautiful Jessica and the family and friends who have left before him. Dennis will be sadly missed by his son DJ and all who have loved him through his journey in life.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 3pm to 7pm and are invited to a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church, 2401 West 38th Street, on Wednesday at 10 am. Attendees must wear masks and abide by social distancing standards. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
