Dino A. DiMarco
Dino A. DiMarco, age 78, of Erie, died Sunday, September 25, 2011 at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born April 29, 1933 in Erie, a son of the late Michael and Lucia Caserta DiMarco. Dino was a 1951 graduate of Strong Vincent High School and was a US Army veteran.
He was employed by the Stare of Pennsylvania for over 30 years as a Purchasing Agent at the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Erie. Upon his retirement, he was very active in the community. He loved his Italian heritage and Erie,s Little Italy. He had membership with the Nuova Aurora Society, Erie's Wolves Club, the 18th Street All Stars, the Seibenbuerger Club, Erie Chess Club and volunteered for the Erie Jazz Society. Dino enjoyed golfing, playing cards and watching sports.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Donikowski DiMarco and a brother, Philip DiMarco.
He is survived by his son, Dr. Daniel T. DiMarco of Fairview, one brother, Ralph DiMarco of Erie and two grandchildren, Brandon and Brittany DiMarco both of Fairview. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a dear friend Judy Brinchi who he voiced was "his angel".
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, Erie, PA 16502.
