Domenico Antonio D'Aurora, age 78, 1710 Chestnut Street, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 13, 2007 following an extended illness.

He was born July 22, 1928 in Rocca Pia, Italy, a son of the late Francesco and Maria Grazia Leone D'Aurora. He worked as a plumber for many years at DeDad Plumbing. He also worked at General Electric from June of 1963 until his retirement in July of 1988. Domenico loved gardening and walking at the Peninsula.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph "Joe D." D'Aurora.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Consettina "Lena" D'Aurora of Erie; one son, Frank D'Aurora and his wife Maggie of Erie; two sisters in Australia, Concetta Leone and Beatrice Rigazzi; a sister-in-law, Mary DeDad of Erie; and a brother-in-law, Dominick D'Aurora of Apollo, PA; seven grandchildren, Tina Gross and her husband, Jawn, of Erie, Jennifer Talkish and her husband, Joe, of Erie, Julie Moore and her husband, Keith, of Erie, Tony D'Aurora and his wife Colleen, of Colorado Springs, CO, Janette Wood and her husband, Jeff, of Erie, Jason Green, of Erie, and Dominick D'Aurora, of Erie; and ten great-grandchildren Dayvid Gross; MacKenzie and Gabrielle Moore; Bryon and Emilie D'Aurora; Zachary, Misty, Cody, Wezley and Simon Wood. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins; two god-children, Beatrice Blenner and Jenniffer Bliley.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 147 West 24^th Street, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
