Dominick A. Vitale Jr.

Dominick A. Vitale Jr., age 74, of Erie, died Monday, August 9, 2010 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born August 20, 1935 in Erie, a son of the late Dominick A. Vitale Sr. and Carmella Cifolelli Vitale.

He lived in Erie all his life. He had worked for the Erie Water Authority for 55 years and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was one of the founders of The Sons of Little Italy and served as their treasurer. He was a Yankee fan and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Vitale and one sister, Connie Franceschini.

He is survived by the his wife of 48 years, Roberta L. Callari Vitale; one daughter, Laura A. Marsden of Erie; one son, Mark D. Vitale and dear friend Sue DeStefano of Pittsburgh and one brother, Anthony Vitale and wife Marion of Erie. He is further survived by 4 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a service there on Thursday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, 2401 West 38th Street, at 10 am. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
