Dorothy M. Devine Roberts, age 81, formerly of Erie, died Saturday, January 18, 2009 in Mount Zion, Illinois after an extended illness.

She was born June 14, 1927 in Erie, a daughter of the late William and Lula A. Filiger Devine. She was a homemaker. She loved bingo, cards and fishing.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Roberts; a long time companion, Arloe Ross; a son, Dennis Roberts; two step-sons, Harold and Kenny Roberts; one brother, William and a sister, Ruby Schnarr.

She is survived by; four sons, Wayne Griffin and his wife Karen of Erie, PA; Herbert Roberts and his wife Judy of Bethany, IL, Greg Roberts of Erie and Dean Roberts and his wife Sandy of McKean, PA; one daughter, Linda Wingard and her husband David of Union City five step-children, Joyce Schroeder of Vidor, TX, Frannie Bingham of Concord, NC, Harriett Ingerman and her husband Larry of Pensacola, FL; Charles Roberts of El Paso, TX and Trudy Carr and her husband Bill of Erie. She is also survived by many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9pm and may attend a Funeral Service there on Friday at 11 am. Burial will be in Erie County Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
