Douglas A. Trask
Douglas A. Trask, age 80, of West 5th Street, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Saint Vincent Health Center after an extended illness. He was born May 16, 1929 in Erie, a son of the late Hugh and Ruth Miller Trask.
He lived in Erie most of his life. He was a graduate of McDowell High School class of 1948. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He had worked at Marx Toys, various plastic companies and most recently at Beechwood Industries. He enjoyed cross stitch projects, film collecting and was an avid electronic game player.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death a brother, Roger R. Trask.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary LaPlaca Trask of Erie; two daughters, Cheryl R. Mayer and husband Thomas of Florida and Susan A. Bissonette and husband Dale of Ohio; two sons, Timothy D. Trask and Roger H. Trask both of Erie and a brother, David F. Trask of Philadelphia, PA, He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Monday evening from 6 pm until time of Funeral Service there at 8:30 pm. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Kidney Fund, 7315 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda, MD 20852.
