Dr. Richard M. Marasco, age 80, of Fairview, PA passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. Richard was known by friends and loved ones as "Doc." He was the son of Michael and Adelle Lizzi Marasco and was born on August 14, 1934.

He is survived by his children: Michael Marasco (Mary) of Arvada, CO, Matthew Marasco (Pam) of Erie, PA, Mark Marasco (Tracey) of Shrewsbury, NJ, and Leslie Kocher (Scott) of Fishers, IN and grandchildren.

Richard graduated from Cathedral Prep and Georgetown University. He received his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College and started his career as a family practitioner in Erie. He continued his education at the University of Texas Medical School for his residency in ophthalmology. He returned to Erie and started his ophthalmology practice. He served the Erie community for 50 years.

Richard was an avid golfer and was well known within the Erie golf and snowmobiling communities. He holds the course record of 63 at the Kahkwa Club. He won various city tournaments, including city champion, and was inducted into the Erie District Golf Association Hall of Fame. His hobbies included playing billiards and playing cards.

Richard will be missed by many.

Friends are invited to a committal service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
