Edith I. DiSantis Bukala
Edith I. DiSantis Bukala, 91, resident of Fairview Manor, died Tuesday, August 25, 2015. She was born August 3, 1924 in Erie, a daughter of the late Dominic and Maria Rocco DiSantis. She married Albert "Boogie" Bukala on May 29, 1948.
She worked at Continental Rubber Works during World War II and was also a cook at the Hub Tavern in the late 70's and early 80's.
Edith was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Bukala; three brothers, James DiSantis, Ernest DiSantis, and Armand "Chi Chi" DiSanto, and one sister, Connie Chiota
She is survived by two children, John "Buck" A. Bukala and Mary Elizabeth Kaylor (John) both of Erie and four grandchildren, Caroline Kaylor (Justin Lowers) of Raleigh, NC, Alicia Kaylor (Don Knight) of Pittsburgh, John Paul Kaylor of Erie, and Judd Bell of Columbia, SC. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. and may attend a service there on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice
