Edward J. Sinnott
Edward J. Sinnott, age 85, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021. He was born in Erie on January 7, 1936, a son of the late Joseph and Henrietta (Strohmeyer) Sinnott.
Ed graduated from Cathedral Prep and Edinboro State Teacher's College, where he received his BA in Education.
Ed was a veteran of the United States Army. He proudly served for 30 years on active and reserve duty and was on active duty during the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm.
Ed worked his entire career as a math teacher in the Erie School District. He coached wrestling at Academy High School and wrestling and golf at Erie Tech High School. At Tech, Hall of Fame Coach Tom Carr and he produced five Pennsylvania State High School Wrestling Champions.
Ed's happiest days were spent with his wife and children, supporting his grandchildren in their every activity, and on the golf course. He was fortunate to have played his last round of golf just three weeks before his passing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Fornelli Sinnott and his siblings John "Jack" Sinnott and Kathleen Sinnott Weyand.
He is survived by his three children, Lisa Klevens, the Honorable Joseph Sinnott, Esquire, and Christopher Sinnott, Esquire and wife Kristen. He is also survived by his grandchildren Sean Klevens, Alison Klevens, Owen Sinnott, and John Sinnott.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Monday, July 12, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. and may attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 13, at Saint George Church, 5145 Peach Street, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Erie Cemetery.
