Elda Cipriani

Elda Cipriani, age 90, of Erie died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born in Erie on July 15, 1924 and shortly thereafter traveled to Sezze, Italy along with her mother and brother. She lived there for 15 years before returning to the U.S. in 1939.

Elda had a very strong faith coupled with an incredibly strong spirit. She loved playing Bingo, watching old movies, cooking, baking and she especially loved everything Italian. Elda always managed to find a little bit of Italian in everyone she met. With her amazing memory, she became the family historian, rattling off names, events and dates as if it all happened yesterday. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.

She is survived by her brother Peter Cipriani (Antonette) of Harborcreek, PA and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 11:00 a.m. Private burial will be at Trinity Cemetery.
