Eleanor Spada Italia, 93, formerly of Erie, died peacefully at Brandywine Senior Living at Senior Suites, Norristown, PA on Wednesday, January 27th, 2016. Born in Erie, PA July 2, 1922 to Emiliano and Anna DeAngelis Spada. While employed at the A&P on Parade Street, she met the love of her life and dance partner, Carmen Italia. They were married October 27th, 1947 and spent 60 years together.

A lifelong homemaker, Eleanor enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, reading, going to the mall and the holidays with her family. A member of Sacred Heart Church, she never missed a day praying the Rosary and thanking the Lord for her blessings.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carmen Italia, her brothers, Ferdinando and Henry Spada and her sisters, Antoinette Santangelo and Emma Perry.

She is survived by her son, Carmen (Regina) Italia, Royersford, PA , her grandchildren, Alicia (James) Zullo, Plumsteadville, PA and Michael (Tami)Italia, Jamison, PA , her great grandchildren, Gina(William)Courchain, Nicole Italia, Johanna Wunder, Luciano and Katherine Italia as well as many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be observed. A private service will be held at the family's convenience. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, is handling arrangements.
