Elena V. DeSantis Santini

Elena V. DeSantis Santini, age 90, of Erie died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at her residence after a brief illness. She was born May 4, 1921 in Erie, a daughter of the late Venturino and Theresa DeValerio DeSantis. She was an active member of Saint Paul's Church and their Legion of Mary and Rosary Altar Society. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Oswald Santini; her daughter, Marie Ellen Santini; three brothers, Charles DeSantis, Joe DeSantis, Esq., and Dr. A.J. DeSantis and three sisters, Adella Miraldi, Edith Gennerelli and Olga Viglione.

She is survived by one son, Edward Santini and wife Christine and one grandson, Charles Santini all of Erie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Friday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
