Elizabeth J. "Betty" McMackin Ruscitto

Elizabeth J. "Betty" McMackin Ruscitto, age 81 passed away on April 19, 2008 at Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center. Formerly of 1749 West 27th Street in Erie, Betty was born on April 19, 1927 in Ridgeway, PA to the late John C. and Jeanette Salter McMackin. She had lived in Erie most of her life.

Betty will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandma and friend. She was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her children and grandchildren, cooking and baking, ceramics, gardening and playing cards with her club girls.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gene A. Ruscitto of Erie; two daughters, Janet LaRocco and her husband, Mark of Houston, TX and Sandra Jordano and her husband, Mark of Erie; two sons, Mark Ruscitto and his wife, Barb of McKean, PA and Robert Ruscitto and his wife Debbie of Erie; her son-in-law Art Laneve of Erie, her grandchildren, Alicia, Meghan, and Rachael Ruscitto and Samantha, Alexa, and Gino Jordano; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara A. Laneve; two sisters, Alberta Ferrence and Mida Shively; and her brother, Robert McMackin.

Friends may call at John R. Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry Street, Erie, Pa. on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1626 West 26th Street, Erie, Pa. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
