Elizabeth M. "Lee" Valiga Higgins

Elizabeth M. "Lee" Valiga Higgins, age 85, of Erie, died Friday, July 13, 2007 at Lake East Hospital in Painesville, Ohio following a brief illness.

She was born December 12, 1921 in North Braddock, PA a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Timko Valiga. She lived in Erie most of her life. She collected elephants, and enjoyed crocheting angels and working crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Higgins; two brothers, Michael and Andrew Valiga and a sister, Anne Felege.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Higgins Morris and her husband Stuart of Edinboro; a son, James A. Higgins of Painesville, OH; three grandchildren, Brent Morris and twin daughters, Dr. Cara Morris McConkey and her husband Shawn and Dr. Staci Morris and one great grandson, Brady McConkey. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Monday from 2 to 5 p.m. and may attend a service there on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
