Emma T. Maruca Cermak
Emma T. "Aunt Emma" Maruca Cermak, age 95, formerly of Ellsworth Avenue, died Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Saint Mary's Home of Erie.
She was born April 20, 1915 in Erie, a daughter of the late Anthony and Stella Barbuto Maruca. She lived in Erie her entire life. She worked at Loblaw's. She was a member of Saint Mary's Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crafts, especially egg art, visiting Presque Isle and playing bocce.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank P. Cermak; three brothers, Alessio Maruca, Nick "Rudy" Maruco and Anthony Maruco and one sister, Antoinette Bucceri.
She is survived by one niece, Kathy Polito and three nephews, John A. Bucceri and wife Joanne, David D. Bucceri and Greg Cermak and wife Linda all of Erie. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a service there on Monday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament RC Church, 1626 West 26th Street, at 10 am. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery.
