Ernestine E. "Sissy" Robinson Gentile, 92, of Erie died, Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Manchester Presbyterian Lodge. She was born September 18, 1921 in Erie, a daughter of the late Ernest and Virgene Cox Robinson.

She had worked as a professional singer with the Sons of Melody and several other groups. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary.

She was a very active and devoted catholic and a member of the Rome Pilgrimage Choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Gentile, a son, Arthur C. Gentile, and eight brothers, Charles, Otis, Donald, Leo, Grover, Eugene, David and Frank Robinson.

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy J. Gentile, Voorhees, NJ; two sons, John R. Gentile and his wife Rita of Harrisonburg, VA, and Anthony H. Gentile and his wife Stacey of Waterford, PA; and one brother, Ralph Robinson of Edinboro, PA. Also survived by Sandra Gentile, Dorothy Wadsworth, Maryann Ross, and Cynthia Corley; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
