Florence A. Salvatore Viglione
Florence A. Salvatore Viglione, age 90, of Kearsarge Place, formerly of 1013 West 21st Street, died Monday, January 21, 2008 at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born October 8, 1917 in Erie, a daughter of the late Nicholas "Nick" and Mary Fiadone Salvatore. When she was a young girl she and her parents returned to their hometown of Villa S. Marie in the province of Chieti to live for a year. She worked for the Lord Corporation and Sears. She was a life member of Saint Paul RC Church and a member of their Rosary Society. She enjoyed playing cards and cooking.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by Luca R. Viglione and a brother, Mike Salvatore. She is survived by one daughter, Judy Hokaj and her husband Hank; one son, Luca M. Viglione and his wife JoAnn; two sisters Mae Ferraro and Catherine Alessi all of Erie; six grandchildren, Anthony Viglione, Nick Viglione, Gina Marie Wendle, Tracy Hokaj, Terry Hokaj and Lisa Matczak. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a service there on Thursday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10 am Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A Christian Wake Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 3 pm. Memorials may be made to the John Kanzius Cancer Research Fund, Palace Business Center, 915 State St., Erie, PA 16501.
