Florence R. Cerami Symoski

Florence R. Cerami Symoski, age 92, of Erie, died Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Independence Court of Erie after a brief illness.

She was born March 5, 1919 in North East, PA a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Moscato Cerami. She lived in Erie most of her life. She had worked at Sterling Seal and General Electric. She enjoyed bowling, bocce and dancing. She lead and active life and enjoyed her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Symoski; five brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by one daughter, Carol Lynn Durkac of Jackson, NJ; one son, Robert P. Symoski and wife Nancy of Erie; five grandchildren, Valentine T. and David A. Durkac, Debra Spencer, Deanna Renaud and Joseph R. Symoski. She is also survived by her dear friend, Philip Sansone of Erie, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family and invited to attend a funeral service on Monday at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, 3325 West Lake Road, at 11 a.m. Burial be in Calvary Cemetery. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the staff at Independent Court of Erie and Great Lakes Hospice for their loving care. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, is handling arrangements.
